How controlled injury repairs skin
Fine needles create thousands of channels in the skin at a set depth. Each one closes within hours, but together they trigger the wound healing cascade, which lays down new collagen and elastin over the following weeks. Nothing is removed and no layer is burned away, which is why recovery is a day or two of looking windburned rather than a week of peeling.
Why it is often the right call on brown skin
Resurfacing lasers carry a real risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation on Fitzpatrick four and five skin. Microneedling delivers no heat, so that risk is much lower. For a patient with acne scarring and a history of marks that darken, we will usually start here rather than with CO2, even though the change per session is smaller.
Adding PRP, and what it is for
We draw a small amount of your blood, spin it to separate the platelet rich plasma, and apply or inject it during the treatment. The growth factors speed healing and improve the result. On the scalp it is used on its own for early hair thinning, where it is genuinely useful, though it works before the follicle is lost rather than after.
Why it matters
Microneedling is the treatment that gets skin to repair itself. Fine needles make controlled channels in the skin, and the healing response lays down new collagen. It does not remove a layer of skin the way a laser does, which makes it the safer choice on darker skin where pigmentation risk is real. It is the answer for acne scarring in people who cannot take CO2 downtime, for open pores, and combined with PRP it becomes the standard treatment for early hair thinning.

Most disappointing results come from a treatment working at the wrong depth for the problem. This is where this one works.
How microneedling runs, step by step
Assessment
Needle depth is set by area and by what we are treating. Scars and open pores are not the same depth.
Numbing
Anaesthetic cream for forty minutes. Nobody does this comfortably without it.
Treatment
A sterile single use cartridge, opened in front of you. PRP drawn and spun on site if it is part of your plan.
Recovery
Red and warm for a day, like windburn. Sunscreen, and no makeup for twenty four hours.
Your own skin does the rebuilding. We only start it.

Patch tested before the first full session
Anything involving a laser or a needle is tested on a small area first. We would rather lose a booking than treat skin we have not tested.

Every treatment on this site carries its price. You will not be quoted a different figure because of how you dressed for the consultation.
Microneedling questions we are asked
With numbing cream it is uncomfortable rather than painful. The forehead and along the jaw are the sharpest areas. Without numbing it would not be tolerable, which is why we do not offer it that way.
CO2 gives more change per session but carries pigmentation risk on darker skin and a week of downtime. Microneedling gives less per session, needs more sessions, and is far safer on Fitzpatrick four and five. For most patients here we start with microneedling.
For early thinning, yes, there is reasonable evidence. Where the follicle has already gone, no, and we will say so rather than sell you a course. It works best to hold and thicken what you still have.
PKR 8,000 for the face, 10,000 with PRP and 12,000 for face and neck. PRP on its own for hair is 6,000.
Skin looks brighter within a week, but the real collagen change builds over eight to twelve weeks. Scarring improvement is judged after the third session, not the first.
