Pico laser and pigmentation treatment in Peshawar
Pigment is the most common complaint we see and the easiest to make worse. A Pico laser breaks pigment with pressure instead of heat, which is what makes it usable on the skin tones we treat in Peshawar.
What pico laser is
What picosecond actually means
Older lasers fire in nanoseconds and clear pigment mostly by heating it. Heat is exactly what brown skin does not tolerate, because it can push the melanocytes into producing more pigment in response, which is how people end up darker than they started. A picosecond pulse is a thousand times shorter. It shatters the pigment particle by pressure before meaningful heat spreads into the surrounding skin. That difference is the whole reason this treatment is appropriate here.
Melasma is a condition, not a stain
Melasma is hormonal and it is driven by sun and heat. It can be lightened, held down and managed, and it will come back if you stop protecting it. Anyone who tells you they can cure melasma in one course is not being honest with you. Our approach is a course of treatments combined with home care and daily sun protection, then maintenance.
What else it clears
Sun spots, freckles, post acne marks and tattoos. Tattoo removal depends heavily on the ink. Black and dark blue clear most predictably, greens and yellows are slow, and old faded work goes faster than fresh dense work. We will give you a realistic session count after seeing it.
Why it matters
Melasma and pigmentation are the most common reason people walk into this clinic, and the most common thing to be treated badly. Creams from the bazaar lighten the surface and rebound worse. Older lasers heat the pigment and can trigger more of it on brown skin. A Pico laser works in picoseconds, shattering pigment with pressure rather than heat, which is what makes it usable on the skin tones we treat here. It is also the tool for tattoo removal and stubborn freckles.
What is included
- Diagnosis of what the pigment actually is, because melasma and sun damage are not the same
- A test patch, since pigmentation is the area where wrong settings do lasting harm
- Treatment at picosecond pulses to limit heat in the skin
- Strict sun protection instructions, which decide whether the result holds
- Review at four weeks before the next session
Which layer of skin pico laser actually reaches
Most disappointing results come from a treatment working at the wrong depth for the problem. This is where this one works.
How pico laser runs, step by step
Diagnosis
We work out whether it is melasma, sun damage or post acne pigment, because the plan differs.
Test patch
Pigmentation is where wrong settings cause lasting harm, so we test first.
Treatment
Twenty to thirty minutes. A light snapping feeling, no anaesthetic needed.
Sun protection
Daily sunscreen from the next morning. This step decides whether the result holds.
Pressure, not heat. That is the whole reason it is safe on brown skin.

Published prices

Pico laser questions we are asked
No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling. Melasma is hormonal and sun driven. It can be lightened significantly and held there with treatment, home care and daily sun protection, and it will return if the protection stops.
Yes, more so than older lasers, because it works by pressure rather than heat. Heat is what triggers rebound pigmentation on Fitzpatrick four and five skin. We still patch test first.
Four to six for melasma, spaced about a month apart, then maintenance. Sun spots and freckles often clear in two to three.
From PKR 1,500 for upper lips, 4,000 for cheeks and 7,000 for a full face session. Mesotherapy for melasma is 6,000.
If you stop protecting the skin from sun, yes. That is the nature of melasma rather than a failure of the treatment. Patients who keep to daily sunscreen hold their results for years.
